I received some good feedback, a lot specifically focused on the sentence level. I had a few comments on the large, overarching themes, particularly on how to better integrate my voice into my writing more effectively throughout my piece. My peers focused a lot on my quote usage and integration as well, emphasizing the importance of good analysis after my quotes. They did not make many comments on my word choice or punctuation, and rather focused on how my arguments fit into my thesis.

          I enjoyed reading through two other peer’s essays as it gave me insight into how they approached their ideas of interest and helped me to identify weaknesses in their and my own writing. They took my feedback well and overall seemed appreciative of my critiques. This was a much more positive peer review experience compared to what I had in the past, as it was clearly established beforehand that we were aiming to be constructive. Having our peer review partners assigned to us also made it easier for me, as I didn’t go in with a bias of hurting the feelings of a friend or being overly critical.
